The restored Victorian Barn is the centrepiece of the Minerva complex, providing comfortable accommodation for upto 60 delegates. This room was purpose built for conference and seminar activities, and has been used as an exhibition area both stand alone and in conjunction with the Coach-House. It is an extremely light, spacious feeling room with a refreshing atmosphere and superb architectural features.
Benefiting from double storey windows overlooking the adjoining farmland, the room has distant views across the town and quay areas of Maldon.
A landing / mezzanine area, often used for break-out sessions or for taking short breaks, provides additional versatility to this room.
The Coach House is set within the courtyard, adjoining the Café. A beautifully appointed conversion of the former coach house and stable block, it provides a peaceful, inspirational space which is extremely popular for boardroom style meetings and events. Its proximity to the café also makes it an ideal location for evening receptions serving hot, cocktail-style, food.
Benefiting from high ceilings and a south facing aspect, the room has excellent lighting and a wonderful feeling of space. Although normally hired as a stand-alone facility, customers do utilise the Café for break-out sessions which provides extra flexibility to the type of events held here.
Provides a central gathering and meeting point where delegates can relax and take refreshments. It is from here that all events at Minerva begin and where delegates will be served teas and coffee on arrival, at morning break and in the afternoon along with lunch and a range of all-day fruit, drinks and snacks.
Certainly the most contemporary feeling room within the centre, in addition to its role supporting events in the Barn and the Coach-House, the Café can also be hired as a “coffee shop” style meeting venue for informal gatherings, both during the day and for evening events.
